Broccoli is full of rice and full of love - Doris’ love. Lady Doris put a part of her soul into a doll she made, so that there would be someone she could love and be loved by, living in a world she can’t help but dissasociate from. To Doris, the only person that isin’t some illusion is Poppet, and Poppet is away for months at a time, leaving her once again alone! Poor lady Doris needs a hug, she’s just in denial... Now she has a vacation from her exhausting work, keeping the weave of reality from melting away, but nobody ’real’ to spend it with.

The white clothes are what she had before she learned more about the world/ how to express herself, and how she covers up her stitches. Finally, Lady Doris has been shown to be very dismissive of the effort Broccoli puts into them, which is the same way she treats Broccoli when she asks questions.
